Of course it's been another long day. I went to work at 6:15 and didn't leave till 8:30. I just don't know how other teachers get their stuff done being there during the regular hours. I do enjoy being at school and being by myself. I got planned for next week, graded papers and entered them into the grade book, printed progress reports and calculated fluency. Not bad, really! We are going on a field trip on Friday so tomorrow is the last regular day of the week.

I want to introduce each of my furry babies one at a time. This is my sweet Reezi. She was a toy poodle who lived until she was 12 1/2 years old. She really thought that she was a literal appendage of me. Wherever I was, she was there. She slept on the back of my legs. Matt called her my pinworm. I'll let your imagination take over on that one. She didn't really like anyone else but me her last few years. I miss her so much. I feel blessed to have had her as long as I did as she had bladder cancer. She lived with tumors in her bladder for at least three years, sweet girl! The end of her life wasn't fun but it was memorable. We are friends with our vet so he let us take her home over Memorial Day weekend on an i.v. There was no way I was going to leave her at the vet's all weekend. I had three days off and wanted to be with her. We brought her home on the Friday complete with the i.v. Carrie showed me how to take care of it and I thought it would be okay but just a couple of hours later, Reezi had some how broken the tubing. Blood was everywhere. I freaked. THEN I figured out that I should turn the dang thing OFF. Carrie, bless her heart, came up to the vet's and replaced the whole i.v. Love her! Reeze and I spent her last five days snuggling in bed together. Unfortunately the extra fluids didn't help her kidney levels so we had my sweet girl put down on June 1, 2011. My only regret is that I didn't stay home with her that Tuesday and Wednesday.

November 29, 2011

Gee whiz it's been a long day! I made it to work a little after seven and left work a little after seven. OK, there's a little more fun going on in there than that. My friend Kim needed to go get her baby from Grandma's so we did that then went to Dollar General and through Micky D's Drive Thru. We made it back to school around 5:00. I felt a little guilty for not getting work done in my classroom but on the other hand...I need some social life. We had to be at school this evening for Health Fair. Our grade level set up a booth called "Water You Doing About Stayin' Hydrated" and passed out small bottles of water to everyone who came by. It was fun but tiring at the end of a busy day.

The best part of the day for me is when I get home for the evening and get to take care of my guinea piggies and play and snuggle with my dogs. I love them so much. They keep my sanity at a manageable level.

I hate that American Airlines filed for bankruptcy. It's affecting a few people that I know. It's a bummer that it has to be right before the holiday. And another friend's husband was laid off today too. Both were unexpected. It makes me feel less secure that they same thing could happen to Matt. What a stress. My best friend's grandson died on Friday. He was only a couple of months old. He had a disorder that was considered incompatible with life. He was a fighter the days he was here. I can't imagine the pain his family is facing but I find peace knowing that he is in the arms of our heavenly father.

Well shucky darn! I can't get the dang pictures uploaded. Oh well! Maybe next time.

My first post!

I've wanted to have a blog for the longest time. I've gotten so technie this past month so I thought I'd try it. My friend Kim showed me how to upload pictures from my iphone to iphoto and now I'm actually figuring out how to do things myself. Of course this is my second try at my first post. I can't quite figure out how to get the pictures in the place where I want them so who knows what this is going to look like!

Bree is doing better, thank God, or at least I think she is. I truly mean "Thank you God" because I know He has been with her through all her crap. I am very very proud of her bravery and strength also. Love that girl! She is enjoying her job as a hair stylist and does very well with both cutting and coloring.

Traci is in her last week of school for this semester. She is a sophomore and has a 4.0 so far. Obviously she is a smart girl. Sure wished she didn't stress over school like she does. One of my favorite things to do is watch that girl play soccer. I am so excited for a 4 on 4 tournament that she is playing in a few weeks. Whoever wins gets $500. Thats just a bit of icing...I can't wait to see her play.

Keri is keeping herself busy with school, drill team, dance, work and just being a teenager. I don't know how she does it all. She loves being captain of the drill team. It's been a dream of hers since 8th grade although she didn't even try out for drill team until she was a sophomore. Could it be her mama was a little attached to her playing soccer too? I'm so glad she was able to override me on that one.

School for me went well today. I love my class and I love my job though it was a little sad last night knowing I had to go back today. The best part of the holidays is a little time off from school.

Well I give up on getting the pictures in the right place! It'll just have to be this way.
