Of course it's been another long day. I went to work at 6:15 and didn't leave till 8:30. I just don't know how other teachers get their stuff done being there during the regular hours. I do enjoy being at school and being by myself. I got planned for next week, graded papers and entered them into the grade book, printed progress reports and calculated fluency. Not bad, really! We are going on a field trip on Friday so tomorrow is the last regular day of the week.
I want to introduce each of my furry babies one at a time. This is my sweet Reezi. She was a toy poodle who lived until she was 12 1/2 years old. She really thought that she was a literal appendage of me. Wherever I was, she was there. She slept on the back of my legs. Matt called her my pinworm. I'll let your imagination take over on that one. She didn't really like anyone else but me her last few years. I miss her so much. I feel blessed to have had her as long as I did as she had bladder cancer. She lived with tumors in her bladder for at least three years, sweet girl! The end of her life wasn't fun but it was memorable. We are friends with our vet so he let us take her home over Memorial Day weekend on an i.v. There was no way I was going to leave her at the vet's all weekend. I had three days off and wanted to be with her. We brought her home on the Friday complete with the i.v. Carrie showed me how to take care of it and I thought it would be okay but just a couple of hours later, Reezi had some how broken the tubing. Blood was everywhere. I freaked. THEN I figured out that I should turn the dang thing OFF. Carrie, bless her heart, came up to the vet's and replaced the whole i.v. Love her! Reeze and I spent her last five days snuggling in bed together. Unfortunately the extra fluids didn't help her kidney levels so we had my sweet girl put down on June 1, 2011. My only regret is that I didn't stay home with her that Tuesday and Wednesday.
